Collins & M'Leester Type Foundry Stamp
Collins & M'Leester Type Foundry was established in 1853. Alexander M'Leester met with Samuel C. Collins and formed the foundry. Samuel Collins was the son of T. K. Collins, a leading printer in Philadelphia.

M'Leester was born in 1819, Northern Ireland. His family came to this country when Alexander was just a lad. His father then placed him to work as a "breaker boy" in the New York type foundry: Elihu White. He worked many years in the type casting buisiness until forming the aformentioned foundry.
