Description: Very early Marriage header or banner that may have been used on Marriage Certificates of the era. Foundry cast alloy bock with electrotype copper face.
Foundry Marking: Stamped on one side by H. L. Pelouze & Son Type Founders, Baltimore. Edward Pelouze began the first Pelouze Foundry in 1818, Boston. The Pelouze family remained in the type foundry business until they sold the business to American Type Foundries in 1901.
