White Family Rotary Treadle Sewing Machine

12.5 x 14 pica ( 2 1/16 x 2 5/16 inch )

19th century White brand treadle sewing machine. I believe this is a Family Rotary (FR) model. In 1858 Thomas H. White began building single-thread sewing machines in Templeton, Massachusetts. In 1866 he relocated to Cleveland Ohio and in 1876, White incorporated his business as the White Sewing Machine Co. and began manufacturing sewing machines. Hardwood with Electrotype Copper Face Plate.

Foundry stamp on one side: Cleveland Electrotype Foundry - Years of operation: Unknown
